Hands and Hakozaki Shrine Flowers

Last April, I wandered the flower gardens of Hakozaki Shrine.

Somehow, I feel that there is something supremely right in the universe when I encounter a flower larger than my hand! As humans, we frequently want symmetry, compartmentalization, things that fit; our perception of acceptable realities becomes rigid. So I am startled into random happy thoughts when I encounter a blossom so much bigger than my humanity, broad joyous petals mocking my smug evolved fingers that often bind me to keyboards and civilized drudgery. Nature will have none of it!
